In response to the upsurge of families and educators seeking to start and to augment existing conversations about race, racism, and resistance, we have developed this stand-alone box. This unique box includes three beautiful, powerful #ownvoices books:
- Skin Again (written by bell hooks, illustrated by Chris Raschka)
- Let's Talk About Race (written by Julius Lester, illustrated by Karen Barbour)
- Something Happened in Our Town: A Child's Story About Racial Injustice (written by Marianne Celano PhD, Marietta Collins PhD, and Ann Hazzard PhD, illustrated by Jennifer Zivoin)
To complement these books this box also includes a discussion guide to help families and educators explore concepts the book introduces with the child(ren) in their care.
Please note that due to the pandemic our supply chain has been impacted. Books are sometimes taking longer to get to us from the publishers and distributors. One title included is currently back ordered and due at our warehouse on June 16th. We will ship boxes as soon as we possibly can, and are in discussion with publishers to expedite access. We thank you for your patience and for your commitment to this work.
